Goosebumps for the harsh words said,
Goosebumps in honor of those who are dead.
Goosebumps in disbelief of the world around us,
Goosebumps for those distraught and repressed.
And despite the abundance of anger and fear,
Have faith in those who spread good cheer.
Goosebumps for those who bake pies to share,
Goosebumps for kids who stand up proud out there.
Goosebumps for the helpers who share their light,
And goosebumps for those who bring "hope" to new height.
We (the whole world) has been living a life akin to a science-fiction story the past several months. A reality that doesn't seem anything like a reality could ever really be here. I've had goosebumps countless times. Many for the children who are at home in environments that most of us can't even imagine. Shivers for the photos of overrun hospitals in big cities. Heartbreak to hear of people taking their last breaths and not being surrounded by those that love them more than anything else in the world.
But, I've also had goosebumps celebrating hope and kindness in people. The little boy who wanted to take his babysitter to the 'prom' when her dance of the year was canceled along with everything else. The woman who makes sweet potato pies and travels the country delivering them to those who are despondent as a beacon of light and to frontline workers as a thank you. The home-based samaritans who have made hundreds upon thousands of masks to donate to whoever needs one. And the list goes on and on.
When in doubt, find the good and be the good.
What are some of your favorite Feel-Good stories?
With love,
Brianne ❤️
